Lead Service Line Replacement is Topic of Discussion

MPC traveled to Rockford to discuss cost-effective solutions to replacing lead pipes with local residents and officials.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, MPC Senior Director Justin Williams and Associate Hugo Coronado traveled to Rockford, IL with partners from the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO). MPC discussed cost-effective solutions to replacing lead pipes as Rockford residents and officials learned how they could afford safe drinking water.

Local media covered this important discussion. As part of the news segment, Williams mentioned that “Nationally, the focus on lead service lines increased after the crisis in Flint, Michigan; but this is a longstanding concern.”
