Transit Coordination Issues
Rider Experience Stories
The Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) is actively developing legislative and policy recommendations for the future of the region’s transit system. As part of this effort and to inform our policy work, MPC circulated a questionnaire in February 2025 to gather feedback from transit users. The results identified three of the most common issues people face when traveling between CTA, Pace, and Metra, helping us better understand the challenges of navigating across systems.
- Scheduling conflicts (73%)
- Lack of fare integration (76%)
- Difficult wayfinding (67%)
Following is a sampling of real stories from those respondents.
Visit our Plan of Action for Regional Transit project page for resources on why transit governance reform matters, the need for increased transit funding, and the legislation that can help make it happen.
