Terri Scales

Terri joined MPC as assistant development director in August 2009 and is primarily responsible for managing MPC’s foundation and corporate grant programs. She also focuses on cultivating new donor prospects, organizing Leadership Circle events, and acquiring sponsors for MPC Roundtables. Terri developed her management skills as co-owner/principal of The Tercet Group (1999-2008), a marketing and design firm that specialized in communications strategies for a wide range of small and mid-sized companies, including several nonprofits. Tercet was recognized by the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center as its ATHENAPowerLink® Chicago Area 2006 Business of the Year.

Her career includes a variety of writing and public relations positions within the business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketplaces; she has received numerous writing awards. Terri is a former journalist whose newspaper experience spans sports, feature, news and editorial writing. She has been active in the Illinois political arena, serving as press relations manager for two statewide races and one local campaign. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the City Club of Chicago.

Terri lives in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood.
