Skyler Larrimore

Skyler Larrimore is the Director of Operations and Strategy at the Metropolitan Planning Council. Since 2016, she has ensured that the organization has the people, processes and financial resources in place to meaningfully advance equity and sustainability in the region. In her expansive role, Skyler manages the administrative, financial, human resources, technology and strategic planning functions at MPC. She is also an active member of the inaugural internal Equity Committee, focused on aligning the organization’s culture and processes around diversity, equity and inclusion.

Prior to joining MPC, Skyler worked as a community organizer in Minneapolis, New Orleans, and Chicago. With Aeon, a Minneapolis-based affordable housing provider, she served as a resident connections coordinator to promote neighborhood quality of life alongside the residents of eight buildings. Later, She worked as a local organizer with Community Organizing and Family Issues (COFI) to implement leadership development workshops and community visioning with CPS and HeadStart parents on Chicago’s South and West sides.

Skyler is passionate about community organizing, civic engagement and neighborhood economic development. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Geography with a concentration in Urban Studies from Macalester College, and a post-graduate certificate in Public Interest Design through Archeworks. In 2019, she was selected as a 2019 New Leaders Council Chicago fellow for a highly competitive institute to advance progressive millennial leadership in Chicago and nationally. She now serves as the Recruitment Co-Chair on the chapter’s Executive Board.

Skyler was born and raised on Chicago’s northside and she is a proud alumna of Chicago Public Schools. She currently resides in Ukrainian Village with her partner Felipe (and two cats!). In her free time, she volunteers with New Leaders Council and Crossroads Fund, a community foundation that funds social, economic and racial justice organizing in Chicago, and mentors a high school student in Bronzeville. She enjoys dancing, biking, cooking and talking progressive politics.
