Kirsten Powers
Kirsten joined MPC in 2006. She has been in nonprofit fundraising for 14 years, having previously served as development director at Openlands, development director at the Chicago Association of Neighborhood Development Organizations (CANDO), and as major gifts officer for Elmhurst College. Prior to this she worked for three years as a senior consultant at Arthur Andersen, working in environmental and financial consulting. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
In addition to managing MPC’s fundraising program, she has set a goal to increase the level of unrestricted giving to MPC through its corporate and individual donors. This includes recruitment of donors to the MPC Leadership Circle, Executive Advisors, and prospecting for new grant or sponsorship opportunities for MPC’s many projects, events and publications. She also hopes to help increase the level of restricted giving and again exceed the revenue goal set for this year’s Annual Luncheon, MPC’s only fundraising event of the year.
