Ariel Ranieri

Ariel is MPC’s content baron. She joined MPC in 2012, first as a research assistant, later as communications assistant and now as communications associate. She coordinates MPC’s blog content and social media accounts, coaches staff on writing for the web and writes and disseminates the biweekly newsletter, The Regionalist. Two of her proudest accomplishments at MPC have been developing an organizational brochure for potential funders and overhauling the newsletter, leading to drastic improvements in click-through rate.

Prior to her time at MPC, Ariel provided communications, event coordination and design assistance to Young Chicago Authors, an organization devoted to promoting creative writing in high schools around the city and beyond. She worked on the now-famous Louder Than A Bomb poetry festival.

A native of the Chicagoland area, Ariel attended the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, earning bachelor’s degrees in Earth Systems, Environment and Society and in International Studies. She spent a semester in Paris and was thrilled to have the opportunity to spend a winter break in Singapore.

Ariel lives in Lakeview and divides her free time between writing, blogging and dancing.
