    In an effort to prepare our region for federal grant opportunities, MPC worked to document the equity and environmental harms that transportation infrastructure has caused. Our report also includes community-generated project ideas to repair those harms.

    MPC partnered with the Latino Policy Forum and UIC’s Great Cities Institute for an in-depth study of Latino population trends that have occurred in the region over the past decade. Topline: Latino's are drivng growth in the region.

  • The Cost of Segregation

    The Metropolitan Planning Council, together with Urban Institute and a team of policy advisors, is leading a groundbreaking, two-year research and policy initiative. The first phase of the work—detailed in the report at right—reveals that segregation costs the Chicago region billions in lost income, lost lives and lost potential each year.
