New Leadership at MPC

Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) welcomes Laura Reilly and Gregory Gurley as its two newest leaders to join the organization this spring.

Laura Reilly began her role as Vice President of Philanthropy & Communications at MPC in May 2022. For more than 18 years, Laura has served in executive leadership positions for six global, national and local nonprofits where she has built and led both development and marketing communications departments. Laura has dedicated her career to advancing the vision and strategic direction of mission-driven organizations that improve the lives of children, adults and families in need.

Prior to joining MPC, Laura was the Chief Development Officer at The Boulevard of Chicago, a medical respite and homeless services provider. Before that, Laura served in leadership roles at Franciscan Outreach, Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4), Bethesda Lutheran Communities, Children’s Home & Aid and Opportunity International. Laura holds a master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Columbia College in Chicago.

Gregory Gurley joined MPC in May 2022. Greg has more than 12 years’ experience as an operational leader in both the private and non-profit sectors. He has a proven track record of delivering systems and innovative business strategies to organizations focused on impacting productivity and creating success.

Prior to MPC, Greg worked as the COO for The National Runaway Safeline, where he provided day-to-day direction to the organization and led all operations, finance, technology, and HR functions. Prior to that Greg served as the founding COO of Kid’s First Beloit and Director of Operations at Thrive Chicago. Greg holds a bachelor’s in finance and business management from The University of Miami. He received an Executive Scholar Business Degree in Non-Profit Management from Northwestern Kellogg.  Greg is an avid gardener and serves as an Associate Board Member at The Green City Market.
