MPC Research Director Comments on Land Use Plan
Plan Commission green-lights land use plan that could bring thousands of new housing units to Edgewater and Uptown

After the Chicago Plan Commission approved a land use plan that could bring thousands of new housing units to a 20-block stretch of Broadway in Edgewater and Uptown, the Chicago Tribune reported on neighborhood sentiments regarding the planning process.
MPC Senior Director Dan Cooper, who is a resident of Uptown, expressed his concerns for single-family homeowners in the area, but noted that “changing zoning in response to individual development proposals was still too slow.”
