Stormwater Management Training for Practical Implementation
Delta Institute, in collaboration with the Calumet Stormwater Collaborative and South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association, is excited to invite you to a free, practical half-day training on Friday March 9 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. for practitioners and local government leaders in municipalities throughout Cook and Lake counties. The implementation-focused morning will cover a suite of green infrastructure tools, which include siting green infrastructure for performance, procuring green infrastructure services, using existing design templates, and practical guidance for setting up projects for success.
The Calumet Stormwater Collaborative, is facilitated by the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) and is comprised of the key stakeholders controlling land, infrastructure, financing tools, or regulatory powers related to stormwater. The Collaborative aims to fosters awareness of the many ongoing stormwater management initiatives in the Calumet region, forge a shared understanding of terms, establish common goals, and identify opportunities to align existing projects toward those goals. This half-day training opportunity will enable practitioners to overcome typical barriers that undermine the long-term success of green infrastructure installations and help communities maximize potential co-benefits.
This training is free but you must register online in advance.
