She was soon after hired as a full time staffer, providing administrative and legislative assistance on health, education, and Native American policy. Abaki currently serves on the first ever Tribal Youth Health Advisory Board to the National Indian Health Board, assisting with policy and programming initiatives to ameliorate health care disparities for Native Americans across the nation.
In her spare time, Abaki is the founder and editor of POC Online Classroom, a website that curates social justice readings, resources, and syllabi. She is enrolled in the Blackfeet Nation of Montana. Abaki was born in Chicago, raised in Montana and currently resides in Lakeview.
