MPC Lead Service Line Report Cited on Radio Program
An MPC study was cited recently on WBEZ’s Reset with Sasha-Ann Simons. The segment explored lead service line replacement, as the EPA recently granted Chicago a $336 million loan to remove lead service lines. MPC’s study found that people of color in Illinois are up to twice as likely as white Illinoisans to live in the communities where almost all of Illinois’ lead service lines are located. The Reset guest speakers include: Andrea Cheng (Commissioner of the City of Chicago Department of Water Management) and Karen Weigert (Director of Loyola University Chicago’s BaumhartCenter for Social Enterprise and Responsibility).
