MPC President & CEO Named to Fiscal Working Group

On May 16, 2025, Mayor Brandon Johnson announced the formation of the Chicago Fiscal Sustainability Working Group (CFSWG), a cross-sector body tasked with identifying strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce long-term budget gaps, and ensure the City’s finances are positioned for a stable and sustainable future.

Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) President & CEO Dan Lurie was named as an inaugural member of the group.

Mayor Johnson stated, “This is a pivotal moment for Chicago…[the group’s] insights and experience will be key to shaping a better future for all our residents.”
